Ok so I forgot yesterday's post. That's because I was stitching this:
It's the first band in the April Sprite Stitch Stitch-along :) - Mario Kart!
I've only got Yoshi left to do.
Listening to Star Trek: Enterprise.
:D
I also finished reading Dragon's Blood by Robin Hobb, yesterday. *wonders when her next book is coming out*

The blog is twitching, but not quite dead.
Ok, i'll admit I've kinda forgotten about this for the last *mumble* weeks.
I have, however, been off dogsitting my baby girls, who are 11 and 12 years old. So of course they're my babies. ;)
Had a good trip. Probably wouldn't fly jetstar again though.. the service in flight was fine, but they don't connect your bags for you - you have to re-check-in at every stop... and they pushed back my flight back to tassie twice. One time without telling me. I was so lucky that I was staying with my mum, and not renting a hotel or something. Also lucky I checked the day before, to see if the flight was still at the same time!
I'm working on my brother's christmas present at the moment, then it's just figuring out what to do for my brother in law (though the gigantic advent calendar I made for my sis, bro in law and neice should be enough lol) and maybe something extra for my dad.. then i'm done!
I've also finished a really cool thing for my swap partner through Sprite Stitch, they should be getting it soon.
OH! I almost forgot to brag (lol)! I have been playing with painting aida, which acts a bit more like dyeing aida, when you accidentally add too much textile medium. So far i've made 3 pieces, one emerald green, one purple, and one black.
I've got plans for the green, the black may make it into a cross stitched bag, but the purple is listed on the shop. Australia Post sure know how to charge for shipping, though. :(

Busy Busy FJL!
I've been wallowing in the motherlode of longstitch and tapestry goodness. I found a heap of unstarted canvases at my local op shop.. and bought most of them. Some had kits, some didn't. I've learned things - I can do french knots! ..in wool, and wool alone. >.<
I'm not sure *what* to do with th ones i've finished though - I think the tiger and the lady will be gifts, though - they were the two kit ones, and turned out the best, imo.
The other ones, I don't know. I might list them, I might gift them.. I might just frame them and spruce up the house a bit. Hmm.
There's one (the tapestry flowers) that i'verun out of BLANC on, but that's easily solved next time I go down to spotlight.
PICTURRRES!

(this one's still in need of a proper stretching)

I hope you liked these! And my washing machine! ;)
I've been working on these more than the Zep. cross stitch - I find Longstitch to be more enjoyable, because it provides more instant gratification. I like gratification. ;) It was a really nice change of pace, too.
I haven't found anything more down there, yet, that aren't literally cut in half or something irreparable, but I'm keeping my hopes high!

Restocking the shop ..
So i've decided to gut my shop on etsy, rename it, and start afresh.
My previous efforts with putting whatever took my fancy into my shop didn't make it look professional, and I didn't have that much interest in it.
So I put it into vacation mode, and had a think about what I wanted to do with it. Close it down? Reopen and continue along? go in a different direction altogether? Do something I enjoy, and list those?
I ended up choosing the last option, and have started cross stitching again. I'll mainly befocusing on the smaller peices, as I get my speed up (i'm a slow stitcher), and so I can have more than one or two peices before the 'big reopen'!
I have completed one peice so far, a cute little dragon, that reminds you a bit of Puff the magic dragon - not intentional, but when someone pointed it out on regretsy.com, I couldn't help but see it too!
Yes, it's blurry, and the colours are washed out - it looks so much nicer in person! I'm waiting on payday to get a frame for this, and an internet friend has cut me a few frames, and they are being sent to me.
I've been working on another sampler, too - almost finished it! It's done in perle variation thread, and it looking very pretty!
All going well, I should have it done by the end of the day.
After that, i'm going to stitch up a little British Palace Guard. I can turn this one into a magnet easily, i'll see how it goes!
