Last Cross Stitch Project of the Year..

And it's an Ancient Hyrulian Scroll! :D

My progress so far:

....yup.

The pattern is by Zombified over on the Sprite Stitch Forums. I know I'm not going to finish it by next year (I know, not funny ;) ) buuut, it will definitely fill time until my purchases come in the mail and I can start present making. :)

Oh, the possibilites for next year!

Currently brewing up some ideas for new patterns in the stores, and fighting with BSODs* that are more and more common on this computer, unfortunatley. :(

* BSOD - Blue Screen of Death http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_Screen_of_Death

Anyway, until next year - Have a great one, whether you're at a party, alone, wiching you were at one while being at the other... just make it yours.

Onwards, 2013!!

A few interesting things..

I finally finished 1/2 of the bobbins i've got to wind! The other half are still bundled up in the baggie and loop system I had going, until it just got too big to manage... I got pulled over going through airport security a couple of months ago - they had no idea what the strange blob was! My stash has only gotten bigger since then.

So, go me!

I decided to annoy the cat while I was out in the loungeroom,

and then taking a quick pic of the frame i'm painting for part of a gift that's due next year - you can just see the sewing box that the fiancee got me for Christmas in the background! :D

And a friend on Facebook led me to this glorious thing.

Star Trek Cross stitch -- Captain Picard, "Set Phasers to Stunning" sampler

I think I need to make this.

I*know* I need to make this. mmmmm...

Shoutout: Wild Olive's Printable Awesomness

So to kick off my posting back here (I remembered my password! Go me!) i'm doing a shoutout to a blog i've been following for a long while - Wild Olive on Blogger

I love the little crafts that is put up on a regular basis, and especially love these little bobbins she has provided for personal use. It's worth your time to print on the heaviest card your printer can handle, or follow the advice found in one of the posts - get some heavy card and spray it with adhesive, then lay a printed sheet (paper) on top to make them. Link to the Bobbin Post

I really can't think of anything else to say, except go check it out!

Also, Happy new Year for tomorrow! :D

I passed!

I passed 'how to forget to update your blog 101', that is. Oops.
Been busy, working on something I can't show yet- though I can show the little thing I made today - nsfw-ish

20121130-201359.jpg

Not sure what to do with it, I've made a few patterns along these lines as well, but needing inspiration- what's your favourite swear word?

Help Needed! (must have Facebook)

So, i've just entered into a competition to hopefully win a $200 voucher at my local Spotlight (craft store). Thing is, I need votes.

Can you spare a few seconds for me? If I won this it would mean that i'd have a years worth of spendings at my store, or I could do a few projects that are just too expensive to shell out a heap of money on.

CLICK HEAR PLEASE>

If the link doesn't work, here's the code to copy and paste: https://www.facebook.com/Spotlightstores?sk=app_218931798221036&app_data=peid%3D68310%26page%3Dentry%26id%3D28566

If it takes you to the main page, my entry's on the 3rd or 4th page at the moment, but will probably be further back by the time I post this.

All you have to do is hit the vote button, I think. There may be some Facebook app that you need to allow, I can't remember. :/

Thanks in advance! :D

The entry in question:

Thankyou, everyone! :D

I got Featured on Shop Delighted!

I have an excite - I was just clicking my way across the net (as you do) and thought i'd check up on my Delighted store.
I found something rather familiar on the front page...

:D

Ponies.. Wanted Dead and Alive.

Ok, so I like my ponies. I like them between two slices of bread, I like them with sauce, I like them with bullet holes.

I also like them alive, too.

I've been making patterns recently, in the 3rd Gen style, which degenerated into making sprites of killing ponies pretty quickly. It was pretty fun, too.

my Delighted store has lots of G3 style ponies now, and there's more to come: Click here to go see Ponies!

However, the glue factory has claimed these three:

Rainbow Dash (as a G3 Pony, she was an Earth Pony, not a Pegasus)
DeadDashie

Pinkie Pie:
pinkiedie

and Rarity. I'm not her biggest fan.
Rarity
Hence the chainsaw to neck action.

I'm currently dreaming up new and interesting ways to kill Fluttershy and Applejack... stay tuned!

I've taken a short break from finishing the last two Christmas presents I have to organize, for the last few days. I've been having a bit of fun!
I've listed some fray resistant Aida - I coloured it myself, and used a piece of black for the cat moon piece below. It really is fray resistant, and is quite stiff, but not too stiff. It's quite nice to stitch on!

I made this teensy phone charm:

I've even put up a few patterns, on my Shop Delighted Store!
I finally listed this beautiful Koi

And I've finished the Cat Moon pattern, subbing the yellow for #919. This was inspired by Halloween.

And finally, I changed up the Facebook page - you can now get there by Clicking this link! it's http://www.facebook.com/SmallStitchShop for those who need to cut and paste.

I'm *dying* to show off the Christmas presents, but as there's a good chance the people i'm making them for will see this, I better wait until after Christmas.

The blog is twitching, but not quite dead.

Ok, i'll admit I've kinda forgotten about this for the last *mumble* weeks.
I have, however, been off dogsitting my baby girls, who are 11 and 12 years old. So of course they're my babies. ;)

Had a good trip. Probably wouldn't fly jetstar again though.. the service in flight was fine, but they don't connect your bags for you - you have to re-check-in at every stop... and they pushed back my flight back to tassie twice. One time without telling me. I was so lucky that I was staying with my mum, and not renting a hotel or something. Also lucky I checked the day before, to see if the flight was still at the same time!

I'm working on my brother's christmas present at the moment, then it's just figuring out what to do for my brother in law (though the gigantic advent calendar I made for my sis, bro in law and neice should be enough lol) and maybe something extra for my dad.. then i'm done!

I've also finished a really cool thing for my swap partner through Sprite Stitch, they should be getting it soon.

OH! I almost forgot to brag (lol)! I have been playing with painting aida, which acts a bit more like dyeing aida, when you accidentally add too much textile medium. So far i've made 3 pieces, one emerald green, one purple, and one black.

I've got plans for the green, the black may make it into a cross stitched bag, but the purple is listed on the shop. Australia Post sure know how to charge for shipping, though. :(

Up in the air I fly, zoom zoom zomazoomzoom

So, off to Perth today! Already at Tullamarine, which is one of the airports at melbourne.
I learned today, that jetstar don't keep your bags checked in when you have a connecting flight, you get to do it yourself!
.. Only you can't do it immediatley. I'm here for another couple of hours, but thankfully can check in my stuff soon. Too bad if I was going to be waiting for like 8 hours or something, can't you imagine how wonderful lugging around two pull along bags are? /sarcasm

Really though, things have been going smoothly so far, I had a yummy nandos lunch, and found out that the mild is too hot for me! Once the skin was off it was really yummy though. My iPad case and the quick phone sleeve I knocked up are working a treat- I hellephanted all the things!

I get to check in at 12, and I'll probably wander out the back then too, and sit on my arse watching the planes or something. Or go for the eleventy millionth pee today.
Speaking of pee... I might be preggo. Not sure, the test read a bit weird. I'll be testing again in a day or two, and hope to have a proper result then. Part of me really wants it to be positive, the other part has enough trouble with the cat! But whatever happens happens, I guess.

Right, I'm going to go and check in. Wish me luck!

Oh yeah, pics are here:http://www.flickr.com/photos/80418796@N02/sets/72157631561034081/

Expect dogs, plane wings, boobs and booze. :D

Wednesday, September 12, 2012

That's right, i'm getting away for a holiday!
I'll be gone from next Tuesday, and won't be able to fill any orders (unless they're PDF's) until the 12th September.
I'll be off dogsitting - I'll miss my kitty and my man, but damn if I can't wait to cuddle and spoil my dogs!
Yes, you can expect photos. :D

SO
From the 17th September (next Monday) to the 12th October, I can't fill physical item orders, but I'll still be contactable. Reminder - i'm no longer listing things on Etsy - I may still in the future, but for now (and i'll tell you all exactly where the items are, of course!) i'm on Shop Delighted. Me on Shop Delighted

In other news, I'll be going with my sister and neice to the Perth Royal Show - I haven't been for about 10 years! I'm not sure if my niece has ever been, it's going to be a great day! :D

Tan wasteland

20120909-151059.jpg

.. I'm going into the tan zone. If you can see it, I've gotten out my handy dandy texta and marked out areas to fill in. I figure it'll make it less tedious. Progress will be patchy! *ducks*

The sims 3 and stitching don't mix.

Because I've ground to a halt in my stitching, more or less! :/

20120908-085627.jpg

I can't do much about the pic orientation- I'm posting from my mobile. I'll fix it up sometime.

Almost there!

20120903-190325.jpg

It's really taking shape. I've been working like a madwoman on this- I do know its upside down ;) - but my deadline I'd in five days. That's when the sims supernatural comes out, and I want to drown myself in sims before I go away, so I don't miss it!
Failing finishing it on the 7th, I need to get this done by the 17th, which is the day before I fly. That way I can clean and press it, for when I go frame hunting. I may end up needing a custom frame, but I'll look around won't hurt!

I'll be continuing with outlining tonight, with the last colour not on this- a rust red. Then it's onto colouring in the blobs!

Something funny happened on the way home today...

So I was on the way home today, after a big day of filling my head full of knowledge.
I was in the shops, getting some bits and peices for dinner, and I succumbed to my bitchy, hormonal mistress - chocolate.
I knew I should be good and resist, but chocolate stops the axe murderer in me Coming out to play.
I got the darkest I could- 85%.
Afterwards, while waiting for the bus, I broke off a little corner of the chocolate. Maybe 1/4? 1/3 a square.
It was delicious. Stupidly strong, mildly sweet, and an edge of mild bitterness. Normally I couldnt have eaten the stuff, it was so strong. I managed maybe a half of what I broke off, before it became too strong.

Now though, about 20 mins after having it... I feel awesome. Not bitchy, moody, feeling like crying all at the same time.

Chocolate = happy pills and no stabbyness. :D

Illness, stitching and Cutie marks

Well, I'd like to start by thanking Boots for his passion about kangaroo.

I'm feeling a bajillionty miles better than this time last week, which is good.

I've kept myself busy.. Well as busy as I could be when I wasn't hacking up a lung or asleep.

I finished the dark brown border of my cross stitch,

20120807-150344.jpg

And I've made good progress on the ecru border inside that. I've barely used half a skein, and the ecru is almost done! It's a good feeling to have quick progress after using 2 and a half skeins for the first bit. After the ecru is done, it'll be back into the dark brown for another border. This one will be a bit more interesting though! If I'm going to stuff up anywhere, it'll be here.

No pic of that - you cant really see what I've done!

I did do one thing Ive never done before though- after finishing the border I took a break and played with waste canvas for the first time :)

I could only get 14ct locally but that's fine. I stitched this onto my back jeans pocket:

I'm all germy..

:( got the cold. Can't do too much. Have update that's 20% cooler than this one, post it when well.

I think I need to take shares in Kleenex or something. :(

Saturday, July 21, 2012

I've been working away on the Zep. project i've got going, though have made a few quick stitches for a change to the constant brown.

I've done Baby Mario and Luigi,

Thanks to Sprite Stitch for all three patterns, Or links to, in the case oft he Mockingjay!

and a Mockingjay, without the circle around it, though.

I plan to use this peice of evenweave that they're all stitched on, to make these small motifs/peices, and just fill it up! I think it will be neat to see the finished peice of... random things.

Anyway.

It's day three of sugar free - going ok! not craving anything yet, feeling a little off, but a small serving berries and greek yogurt fixed that up. om nom nom.

Thursday, July 19, 2012

Sugar free day 1

Well, so far so good!
Had a few long days this week, so not much stitching or anything got done.

I did manage to list the note book covers though!

They can be found on my etsy shop, smallstitchshop so go take a peek!

Progress!

20120715-175620.jpg

Up to the edge of the pattern. Hooray!

Should be able to get some yellow felt in the next few days to be able to start on fluttershys' book.

Thursday, July 12, 2012

Another MLP Cutie Mark notebook cover - this time it's Pinkie Pie!

I didn't have any nice bright pink to do the edging with, so I used a nice bright Variation floss instead - It's only got a little bit of light pink in it, and most of that ended up on the stitching on the back.

Next on the list of To-Do's is Fluttershy - And continuing on with my giant Graf Zeppelin cross stitch peice. :D

Busy Busy FJL!

I've been wallowing in the motherlode of longstitch and tapestry goodness. I found a heap of unstarted canvases at my local op shop.. and bought most of them. Some had kits, some didn't. I've learned things - I can do french knots! ..in wool, and wool alone. >.<

I'm not sure *what* to do with th ones i've finished though - I think the tiger and the lady will be gifts, though - they were the two kit ones, and turned out the best, imo.

The other ones, I don't know. I might list them, I might gift them.. I might just frame them and spruce up the house a bit. Hmm.

There's one (the tapestry flowers) that i'verun out of BLANC on, but that's easily solved next time I go down to spotlight.

PICTURRRES!

I hope you liked these! And my washing machine! ;)

I've been working on these more than the Zep. cross stitch - I find Longstitch to be more enjoyable, because it provides more instant gratification. I like gratification. ;) It was a really nice change of pace, too.

I haven't found anything more down there, yet, that aren't literally cut in half or something irreparable, but I'm keeping my hopes high!

Saturday, June 30, 2012

I made a thing a few days ago! A creepy as hell Saint Spock embroidered picture! He's embroidered onto a stretched canvas, and so I listed it on my Etsy store. less than 24 hours later, he SOLD. OMG.

Also it looks like he's coming onto you. SO ILLOGICAL

The same day, I got a call from the local radio station, I had won 2 pizzas, a coke, and garlic bread for free! (it was DELICIOUS, by the way.)

Gotta love luck and sales!

I've finally finished downloading that Martha Stewart Scrapbooking app thing, and it's not bad! As someone who's not that into scrabooking, I have been having fun just throwing things together, and seeing what happens.

I think some features are limited, like the border shaping, and more glitter colours would be nice, but I think that will happen when you start getting more in app purchases. you *can* mix and match with the themes, which is a nice thing.

here are a couple of my play goes:

on another note, I went floss hunting today! I got all but ONE colour from the DMC range at my local Spotlight crapstore (not a typo, sadly), and only had to get one anchor colour that was missing. Why can't they keep the damn racks *stocked*? :(

BUTBUT BUT BUT BUTT BUM BUT!!!!!!111!!!!!elevenytone!!!!!

I have all the colours I need to start working on Reindeer motifs for covered notebooks, for my neice (Rudolph) and Stepmum (Prancer) :D
